A. In order to access the usage
reports, you must have a CSA Illumina username, and password.
Because login is IP authenticated, you must also have an IP
address. In order to access the reports from a remote location,
we require local validation using either a proxy server or
a restricted access page. If your university utilizes a proxy
server for remote access, we can add your proxy IP to your
account. Go to http://usage.csa.com/usage/usage.php
to login to the usage system.
Q. How frequently is the data
updated?
A. Usage data displayed is from two days before the current date.
Q.
Why am I not seeing any data for my usage?
A. If your account has
no reported usage the reports will not display any data. Instead,
a message will be displayed alerting that there is no reported
activity.
Q. How far back can I get usage
data?
A. Usage data is available
for the current year (2009) and the past two full years.
Q. How are Signons, Searches
and Queries counted?
A. Signons: The number
of times a person successfully logs into the CSA Illumina
Interface (CSA account). Each time a person accesses the CSA
Illumina platform with a username and password or clicks on
a login link, CSA counts this as one SignOn.
Searches: A search is counted each time
a person clicks on the "Search" button.
Queries: The number of databases searched
for a single search is counted as queries. Since it is possible
to query multiple databases for a single search, the query
number is usually higher than the number of searches. For
example, if a user is searching 3 databases when he/she clicks
on the search button, it is counted as 1 search but 3 queries.
Q. Who do I contact if I have
questions or problems with the usage reports?
A. Contact support@csa.com
for any inquires or problems regarding the usage reports with
a brief explanation of the problem, organization name and
contact information.
Q. Who do I contact if I have
forgotten my username and password?
A. The username and password
used for usage reports is the same as your CSA Illumina username
and password. You may contact technical support at support@csa.com
if you forget your username and password. Please include organization
name and contact information.
Q. What is COUNTER?

usage reports can be exported in HTML, HTML Excel, Excel,
CSV, and XML.
